Originally assigned to design the extension and revitalization of Batam Center Mall which includes the internal front space, outdoor area and facade treatment, TWS & Partners ends up designing the public entrance interior, as well as the primary space. This covers a total of 58,898 sqm designated area.
The challenge was to provide convenience for the visitors, and it was resolved by mainly 2 things. One, was providing a passageway that connects to ferry terminal. The second, was creating a 16,000 sqm parking building, which also serves a simple, new, attractive commercial hub.
The last additional program is the apartment tower which sits on top of the parking space and new commercial area on the ground level. The rooftop building base is used for an extensive roof garden and facilities intended for the residents.
