The Net is a private office building dedicated to internet network systems. The project transforms an existing shophouse along one of Jakarta’s busy roads into a contemporary office space.

The surrounding area is an established business district characterized by aging buildings and a relatively monotonous urban landscape.

The design concept draws inspiration from the company’s core business in internet and networking systems. The name The Net references the interconnected nature of the internet, symbolizing the idea of connection. This concept is expressed through a crisscrossing net-like facade, composed of transparent openings and solid elements that create an interplay of natural light and shadow within the atrium.

The building’s internal layout was reorganized by positioning the main vertical circulation and communal meeting spaces at the front. This strategy brings movement and activity to the facade, introducing new materials and offering glimpses of the building’s interior from the street.

Gold-colored aluminum composite panels (ACP) are used to create a striking contrast with the surrounding urban fabric, establishing the building as a distinctive new landmark. The program is organized vertically according to departmental functions, with a multifunctional room and courtyard located on the top floor, allows natural light to come in and create a welcoming gathering space for the inhabitants. At the bottom is the ground floor that accommodates a talking space, while the second and third level accommodates a warehouse. Starting from the third level, as well, is the main lobby of the office. Finally, the top floor comprises of a warn, welcoming gathering area.
